Umar John is the founder of Hummingbird Film Studios and a multidisciplinary creative whose work spans filmmaking, production, music, poetry, journalism and cultural enterprise.
His professional journey began across Pakistan and Dubai before continuing in the United States. Through Hummingbird, he has developed a connected body of work that includes independent cinema, television and digital media, original music, international film initiatives and cultural productions.
At the center of his practice is a commitment to stories that carry emotional truth and cultural memory. He sees creative work not only as entertainment, but as a way to connect people across language, geography and lived experience.
